Description

March 13th, 2016 edit: It'll still be a bit before I finish "The Call", the story where Colin joins the team (It's looking like it'll be after Mission 2, and who knows when that's coming), but we all know he's on his way, so it shouldn't be a spoiler. I thought I'd do this now since his art's been done for like a year and a half and I've been waiting to share him long enough.

These nerds can be referred to as either "Team Plum Pudding" or "The Puddings". Both are correct, though you might get a weird stare for that second one.

"So here's what I'm thinkin', Plum-Face. . .You sell your soul to me and agree to become my. . .personal assistant, and I'll pay your way out a' here. See? Totally win-win!"

:bulletred: Aurora "Rory" Lukedaughter :bulletred:

Height: 1'9"

Weight: 23 lbs

Favorite Color: Sunset Red

Favorite Food: Nincada. Rumor has it she goes a little psycho when they're around. Has also been known to eat twigs and leaves.

Alignment: Neutral Good

Goals in Life: To track down Allison Thundersand; to perfect her martial arts skills; to act on stage and see her name in lights.

Fears: Small spaces, ghosts, and heights

Greatest Weakness: She tends to leap before looking and can attack others with little to no provocation
:bulletred::iconelectrictypeplz:Thunder Punch - As Rory throws a punch, her hand glows yellow and produces electric sparks. This move is more difficult to use than Fire Punch and is generally reserved for Water-Types only. She inherited this from her father as an Egg move. It can only be used with her left hand.
:bulletred::iconnormaltypeplz:Strength - Rory’s forearms take on a gray-brown glow as she prepares to lift something heavy or slam into an opponent.
:bulletred::iconfiretypeplz:*Fire Punch - As Rory throws a punch, her right hand - only her right hand - bursts into flames. This may also happen if she loses control of her emotions. Occasionally it also happens when she’s. . .sleeping? That can’t be right. . .
:bulletred::iconfightingtypeplz:Low Sweep - Rory slides forward as she runs, ducking low and knocking her opponent’s legs out from under them - Or simply hits them at a quick speed.

Rory grew up in a far-off desert land known as Iravia, where she and the rest of her family raised non-sentient Miltank, Mareep, and Skiddo for their milk and wool. She met Adrian while heading across the desert, saved his life, kept him alive, chased him down, yelled at him, nearly drowned him, and finally agreed to take him with her to [the Andalusst continent]. Although Adrian's side of the story is slightly different . . .

Rory has a few notable weaknesses, such as her predictability in battle (Her moves are all punch- or kick-based), her general laziness, her running off to examine whatever new thing catches her interest, or her tendency to pounce on anything that moves too suddenly. Her greatest strength is, well, her strength. She prides herself greatly on this and can often come off as a bully due to her habit of pushing around those who are smaller than her.

Rory seems to have left Iravia in search of a certain "Allison Thundersand" . . . or maybe to achieve her dream of becoming an actress? Or hunt down Nincada? Or maybe it has something to do with the boxes she brought with her? The details get awfully fuzzy around here.

Of course there was an issue of losing her way in the Fog and being unable to get out again, but whatever. It's more fun to participate in Missions and boss around Adrian than trying to achieve her life goals anyway.

> Deadly Sin: Sloth

> Heavenly Virtue: Forgiveness

> Has a worse reaction to Poison than normal. Contact results in throwing up and can make her (more) lethargic for days.

> Thick, rough fur

> Usually wins a fight the first time around, almost always loses after that

> Can turn off the heat of her tail-flame, but not the light

> Randomly carries shiny gemstones

> Pockets are always overflowing
:icondivider1plz::icondivider2plz:

From the beginning of the Basalt Halls Dungeon until further notice, Adrian is currently UNAVALIABLE for cameos, Tumblr asks, and that sort of thing. Thanks!

"I prefer the term 'indentured servant', thank you very much. Gosh darnit, Woman!"

:bulletgreen: Adrian Thatmonson Crest :bulletgreen:

Height: 1'6"

Weight: 15 lbs

Favorite Color: Inky Black

Favorite Food: Plums (And chocolate)

Alignment: Lawful Neutral

Goals in Life: To complete his years of servitude to Rory; to prove (mainly to himself) that he can survive in the outside world on his own; to publish his research papers; to be highly thought of and do fancy things, like meetings and paperwork; to live a hundred miles away from everyone he knows.

Fears: Ghosts, getting sick, and bugs

Greatest Weakness: He’s an absolute stickler for rules and refuses to bend or break them in any way
:bulletpink::icongrasstypeplz:*Vine Whip - Adrian pulls sickly-looking yellow vines from the ground or from the palms of his hands to use like ropes. The frailness of the vines are a source of great embarrassment to him, so you’ll rarely catch him using this move willingly. When he gets nervous, however, small vines often sprout around his feet.
:bulletyellow::iconpsychictypeplz: Reflect - Adrian spreads his hands above his head and seems to mutter some sort of chant - Whatever it is, he denies it’s magical. This casts a silver-pink shimmer in the air, and so long as it’s active he and Rory also shimmer slightly. However, this move won’t affect Rory if she’s more than a few feet away from him. This move often springs up in self-defense. Once the shield wears off Adrian can’t reset it for a few minutes. He usually forgets to, anyway.
:bulletpink::iconbugtypeplz: Pin Missile - Adrian’s signature move. The Pins resemble large oval-shaped seeds, and once Adrian has formed them in his hands he can throw them like ninja stars. He’s deadly accurate with them, but they don’t do a lot of damage even to those with a weakness to Bug moves. He's awfully fond of them even so.
:bulletyellow:/:bulletred::icongrasstypeplz: Leech Seed - Adrian forms small spores in the palms of his hands, but must touch his foe in order to attach them. Once activated, these spores drain their host’s strength, and both they and Adrian give off a slight glow when he receives energy from them.

Adrian is Rory's slave indentured servant in denial, which means that he takes care of anything that involves reading, writing, cooking, shopping, cleaning . . . Basically anything other than fighting, where Rory claims he's a liability. Unlike Rory's physical strength, Adrian's mind is his greatest attribute. He's an author in training. Well, sort of. Not really. He does, however, study biology and write lengthy research papers on what he discovers by observing living Pokémon.

He may be smart, but Adrian's true intelligence is somewhat questionable. For example, Rory is the first female he's ever met in his life, and one of the first things he said to her was "Girl? What's a girl?" Not only that, but he was found wandering through the desert without any provisions at all - even water. He's also firmly convinced that Rory's name is "Woman" and refuses to address her as anything else.

Adrian doesn't have much to say about his past life, and will repeat small details rather than explaining in full. What is clear, however, is that this Chespin lived a very sheltered life until one day he apparently left home seeking adventure, new Pokémon to research, and the chance to put the knowledge he's gained from years of reading to the test.

Of course, he subsequently learned that he can't take care of himself and nearly died, but it's a work in progress. Even if he is Rory's indentured servant, sticking around with her means he receives protection, food, shelter, and the chance to learn about these strange 'girls' first-hand.

> Deadly Sin: Pride

> Heavenly Virtue: Chastity

> Allergic to persim, pecha, and chesto berries, as well as cat-like Pokémon (Meowth, Glameow, Skitty, Purrloin, Shinx, Litleo, Espurr, their evolutions, etc.) Strangely, he has no problems with other fluffy Pokémon such as Cinccino or the Eevee family

> Thick, soft fur

> Refuses to fight unless fighting 1 v 1; see also, Part 10 of "Rory and the Duckletts"

> Attracted to large ears

> Almost always carrying notebook and quill

> Will art for food
:icondivider1plz::icondivider2plz:

"I can always find ways to make myself useful around the house. Tomorrow I tear out and fix up the bathroom!"

:bulletblue: Colin Goldwater :bulletblue:

Height: 3'9"

Weight: 58.7 lbs

Favorite Color: Every color- he doesn't judge!

Favorite Food: Popcorn

Alignment: What, it wasn't obvious?

Goals in Life: Seems interested in research. Probably something with machines. Didn't he mention he was looking for Adrian one time? I dunno- Are you really going to question his motivations when you can just hug him? Seriously? What even are your priorities?

Fears: Losing his loved ones, probably? Yeah, he seems like a sweet guy who appreciates his friends and family, so let's go with that.

Greatest Weakness: He's a Wobbuffet. You tell me.
:bulletyellow::iconfightingtypeplz: Counter - Colin's eyes glow dark red while this is active, but that's the only sign until the power of your attack slams back into you like a red arrow.
:bulletyellow::iconpsychictypeplz: Mirror Coat - Colin's eyes glow pink while this is active, but that's the only sign until the power of your attack slams back into you like a pink arrow.
:bulletyellow::iconnormaltypeplz: Safeguard - Colin places his hands together in front of his chest and shuts his eyes. There may be a slight brown-gray glow that affects his friends, but we're still looking for witnesses to confirm that.
:bulletyellow::iconghosttypeplz: Destiny Bond - Why on the planet would you beat this poor guy up to the point where that's actually an option?

Colin is new to the team, and we don't know much about him yet. Before joining Plum Pudding, he was a member of Team Refresh in the Geodan Researchers branch. Jaime swears up and down that she met him in "Good Spirits". Miles and Rory crossed paths with him in "'Cue the Music", and he also seems to have trust issues with Rudy, as demonstrated in "When In Geoda". This may possibly have to do with that time the little guy was declared king of his hometown for a couple weeks.

As for the rest? That's his story to tell.

> Deadly Sin: Lust

> Heavenly Virtue: Humility

> Thoroughly Cunning; because he loves to build machines, you see

> Keeps his eyes open because it helps him see more colors probably

> The black "eyes" on his tail are air holes, and that is the only way he can breathe; will freak out if you grab his tail because you are strangling him and that's rude

> Super mega awkward around girls, and quite possibly has a crush on all of them at the same time

> Doesn't seem to be a big fan of dragons, though

> Physically incapable of jumping

> Pretty much impossible to knock over. He wobbles but he doesn't fall dow- /shot

> Hates interrupting people

> Hasn't met Adrian yet

> Dominance hormones act up super bad around other Wobbuffets

> Doesn't believe in evolution

> He’ll always use Mirror Coat if his attacker is standing far away (most likely to use a Special move), and he’ll always use Counter when his opponent is nearby (more likely to use a Physical move). This strategy has helped him many times, but of course it isn’t always right. If he can’t confirm that all your moves are one type or another, and if you know his strategy, it’s not that hard to take him down. You just have to keep beating on him.

> Colin has no ranged moves, but he can extend his shadow and send it to catch an opponent’s, preventing them from fleeing. I suppose that takes some degree of coordination. Unlike Rudy, Colin can’t drag people or objects by using his Ability - he can only keep them rooted to the spot. That’s the downside of the range bonus, I guess.
